Amy Orean Kirk, 89, of Mullens, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born February 20, 1924 at Dott, WV, she was the daughter of the late Willard Lee and Sinda Florence Shrewsbury Basham. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Noble Kirk; daughter, Robin Lee Kirk; sisters, Beulah Rowe, Bonnie Troupe, Dorothy Dillon and brothers, Ralph and Roy Basham.
Orean was a member of the Mullens First Church of God where she served as song leader for many years. She loved playing the piano and organ.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Chambers and her husband Ron of Daniels; son, Jimmy Kirk of Mullens; daughter-in-law, Juan of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Michelle, Sherry, Laura, Noah and Jamie; seven great-grandchildren and sisters, Delphia Ann Chow of Ft. Scott, KS and Edna Umile of Coatsville, PA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Noah Kirk, Sam O’Neal, Cody Richmond, Bill Hatcher, Jason Wahl and David Richmond.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mullens First Church of God.
